http://www.mtpchina.org/about百万植树计划始于2007年，是上海根与芽最主要的项目之一。项目致力于唤起大众环保意识，号召个人参与行动，以减少对自然环境的负面影响。该项目通过在内蒙古种植树木，为个人和组织提供了抵御全球变暖的机会，为当地居民和社会发展建立一片可靠的防护屏障。同时，项目的各个环节都能够帮助当地居民从中获益，可谓兼顾了生态与人道主义救助的双重使命。   

The Million Tree Project, which began in 2007, aims to raise community awareness of the Earth’s precious environment while focusing on steps individuals can take to lessen their negative impact on the natural world. By planting trees in Inner Mongolia, the project is designed to improve both ecological and humanitarian conditions there. The project gives individuals and organizations an opportunity to fight climate change by planting oxygen-producing trees. It also encompasses true capacity building as the local population is intimately involved with, and benefits from, every step of planting, maintaining and monitoring the trees.

2022年内蒙古林地调查概况
Summary of 2022 MTP Forest Survey

截至2022年，MTP项目于内蒙古通辽市和鄂尔多斯市共栽植40块林地，绿化面积达37519.15亩（23.45平方公里），栽植各树种共计2727979棵。其中，2022年新增一块林地，即2022-1，林地面积为961亩。
To date, MTP has successfully planted 2,727,979 trees on 40 forest plots, covering an area of 37,519.15 Mu (23.45 km2) in Inner Mongolia. In 2022, a new plot of 961 Mu was planted, marked as plot 2022-1.  

2022年宁夏林地种植报告 2022 Ningxia Forest Planting Report

2022年,百万植树计划宁夏项目继续与灵武市白芨滩防沙林场合作，共得到19家林地赞助商的支持，在白芨滩保护区内总计治沙一千亩，栽植各类灌木共二十万余株。
Supported by 19 forest sponsors, the Million Tree Project continued its desert control efforts in cooperation with Baijitan Tree Farm in 2022. Another 200,000 shrubs have been planted, covering a total area of 66.67 hectares in Baijitan Nature Reserve.

2022 International Gibbon Day Events

海根与芽与上海动物园在2022年继续开展国际长臂猿日系列教育活动，向青少年和公众介绍长臂猿，呼吁大家关注长臂猿的种群生存境况，让更多青少年和公众参与“守护长臂猿”的公益活动。
In 2022, Shanghai Roots &Shoots and Shanghai Zoo again held the International Gibbon Day series events together, to raise the awareness of protecting the endangered gibbons. The
school groups have participated in these events to learn about the importance of gibbons in our ecosystem.

Review of 2022 Inner Mongolia Ecological Investigation

百万植树计划每年夏季开展林地生态调查，今年虽然没能招募志愿者参与，但两位来自广西生态工程职业技术学院的00后实习生加入了进来一起参与林地调查工作。
The Million Tree Project conduct forest ecological survey every summer. This year, the volunteers cannot participate the survey due to travel restrictions, but two young interns joined the team and carried on the forest survey work. They are the senior students from Guangxi Ecological Engineering College.

2022年，百万植树计划和广西邦亮长臂猿国家级自然保护区合作在保护区大笃村弄曼开展，栽植544棵树，造林地总面积为8.25亩。种植树种为小叶榕和南酸枣混交。In 2022, MTP collaborated with Guangxi Bangliang Gibbon National Nature Reserve and planted 544 trees in Nongman, Dadu Village. The total area of trees planted is 0.55 hectares. The trees planted were the mix of Ficus concinna and Choerospondias axillaris.

2022年百万植树计划在鄂尔多斯市杭锦旗北开展。今年的造林地总面积为961亩。林地归当地农户所有。The Million Tree Project (MTP) 2022 forest is located at Hangjin Qi, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia. The total area of trees planted this year is 64 hectares, owned by local farmers.

2021 Spring Planting Trip Review

2021年4月，来自11家单位的79名志愿者参与了这次的内蒙古植树之行，今年载植了前所未有的十年樟子松苗，也有三年生樟子松苗。树苗体积大所以也需要挖更大的树坑，树坑已预先由当地工人打好，但仍有少数参与者体验到了挖坑的乐趣。所有参与者共种植了600余棵樟子松。
In April 2021, 79 volunteers from 11 organizations participated in the planting trip in Inner Mongolia. This year, we planted some ten-year pine container seedlings, which is unprecedented. The holes were dug and prepared for planting by the local wokers. Some of the participants had the opportunity to experience the fun of digging holes for trees. More than 600 pine trees had been planted.

Million Tree Project is not all about planting trees, it's also an initiative to raise environment awareness and encourage public to take responsibilities to protect the nature and the earth. The participants of planting trip always get back with a better understanding of the environment issues, the importance of tree planting initiatives and more.
