In year 2017, cooperating with the Forestry Bureau in Keerqinzuoyihou Qi, Tongliao, MTP contributed to the ecological restoration on a sandy land plot by planting a mix of Pinus sylvestris L. var. mongolica Litv. (Scotch Pines), Acer mono (maples), willows, Phellodendron amurens and Caragana microphylla Lam..
The survival rate of plot 2017-1 has declined in 2018. Among the tree species, the survival rate of pines has declined the least, while that of willows has declined the most. Despite these factors, the overall survival rate maintains in high level, which is 85.5%. The heights of pines and willows are growing, and so are the widths of willows. Meanwhile, the heights of maples have declined.
Above image was taken on Sep 25th. We can see that there is no massive death of pines, and the growing status is good. The surface vegetation is lush, and some areas have been weeded. The major problem is that it potentially increases the difficulty of fire protection.
